The Learning Lab
Who: Students in Levels 3 and 4 with written parent permission who are able to independently after school. Click here to download a Learning Lab parent permission form. The Learning Lab will be supervised by instructional assistant Rick Boudreau.
What: The Learning Lab is a drop-in time for students who do school work with adult supervision. Students will not receive tutoring or one-on-one support but will have a quiet place to study and complete school assignments. Students are expected to come prepared with the materials they need to work quietly on their own.
When: Ongoing. 3:30-4:30 p.m. Mon., Tues. and Thurs. and 1:15-2:30 p.m. Fri. Closed Wednesdays. Students may stay the entire time or leave when they are ready. Students must sign in and out at the Lab.
Where: The Learning Lab will be located in the Puffins Classroom and the computer lab on the lower level of the main building.
How: Complete, sign and turn in a permission form. Have your student bring the form the first time they attend the Learning Lab. Please note: If you do not want your student to self-release after Learning Lab, you must pick him/her up before 4:30 p.m. We cannot offer supervised release from Learning Lab at this time.
The Treehouse
Who: Students in Levels 2 and 3 with teacher referral and parent permission. The Treehouse is staffed by Americorps member Kate Phillips and trained volunteers under the supervision of principal Vanessa Gray and Level 3 teacher Gretchen Ziemer.
What: The Treehouse will provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring for students who need extra support in reading, writing and math.
When: 3:20-4:30 p.m. Mon., Tues. and Thurs.; 1:05-2:30 p.m. Fri. Closed Wednesdays.
Where: Top floor of the main building
