Forest Grove Community School teachers have compiled information about activities and strategies to help parents and other supportive adults keep students engaged in learning during non-vacation school closures.
Resources are organized by FGCS levels and, in some instances, by grade, across the curriculum, including art and physical activity. Resources include some that require use of technology and others that are low- or no-tech options. Some activities are intended for most students to be able to complete independently or with limited adult support; other activities will require adult support. All students will benefit from having a parent or other supportive adult encourage and hold them accountable for learning from home during non-vacation school closures. Our goal is to provide a structure and resources to make that a little easier with the shared goal of preventing learning loss during extended closures.
