Capstone Video: Who is FGCS?

We are honored to share this video by Waylon Jackson, an FGCS student who recently graduated from 8th grade. He explains the film, which he completed for his Capstone Project: "After attending the Forest Grove Community School for 8 years, I wanted to give back to the staff who have been such a positive influence in my life since the 1st grade. My 8th Grade Capstone Project presented a great way to honor and give back to the staff at FGCS, and it gave me a chance to learn to use the Adobe Premiere Pro video editing software. I hope you enjoy my film!"

Earthquakes: How Can You Prepare?

You are probably aware that the Pacific Northwest is earthquake territory, but do you know how to prepare for The Big One? FGCS 8th grade student Josh H. has been researching the topic for his Capstone Project and has prepared this information brochure to help you get ready. Take a look - there's some great information, including a list of essential supplies for an earthquake preparedness kit. Thanks, Josh!

When to Keep Your Child Home from School

If your child isn't feeling well, it can be hard to know whether to send them to school or keep them home. While we want kids to be in school as much as possible, it's important for them to stay home when they are ill - for their own sake as well as to avoid infecting others. Click here to read guidelines for when to keep your child at home because of illness.
