No Late Start on Weds. at FGCS

Some parents and students have inquired about the 30-minute late start on Wednesdays adopted by the Forest Grove School District. This late start does NOT apply to FGCS, which is operated by an independent board of directors. School starts at 8:50 a.m. Mon.-Fri. at FGCS. Dismissal is 3:05 p.m. for Level 1 and 3:20 p.m. for Levels 2 and 3 Mon.-Thurs. All students dismiss at 1:05 p.m. Fridays.

Required Immunizations for School /Low-Cost Shots Available at School-Based Health Center

Oregon law requires certain students to have had certain immunizations to attend school. Click here for a list of required immunizations.

Low-cost immunizations are available through the Forest Grove School-Based Health Clinic located near Forest Grove High School. An immunization clinic is scheduled for 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 2. Cost is $15 payable at the clinic. To schedule an appointment at a different time, call at 503-359-4756. The center also provides sports physicals and general medical care. The center accepts most insurance plans and there is a slide fee scale for those without insurance.

2010-2011 Calendar & Handbook

The FGCS 2010 calendar and Student & Family Handbook are now available. Parents/guardians, please carefully review the handbook to familarize yourselves with school procedures and rules.

Please note that there are a few differences between our calendar and other District school's calendars - i.e., some days when we are in school and other District schools are not, or vice versa. In particular, note that FGCS has not eliminated school days because of budget cuts and is not adopting the District's 30-minute late start on Wednesdays.

School Supplies Lists - Cash Option for Levels 1&2

Hate driving around looking for the best deals on school supplies, only to find that there aren't any eco-friendly options? If you have students in Level 1 or 2, FGCS can help! This year, we are piloting a plan to purchase school supplies in bulk to get the best prices, make eco-friendly purchases, minimize wasteful packaging and make sure our classrooms are well-supplied throughout the year. Level 1 and 2 supplies are pooled for classroom community use, so why not let us take care of the shopping for you? Families who choose the cash option pay $20 (cash or check only), which will provide enough funds to outfit our classrooms with quality supplies for the school year. We hope most Level 1 and 2 families will choose this option because, the more we have to spend, the better the deals we can get by purchasing in bulk. However, paying cash is truly an option this year; if you prefer to purchase supplies yourselves, please buy the items on the lists below. If you do want to participate, you may give $20 to your child's classroom teacher during family visits or pay in the school office. The cash option is not available for Level 3 students this year because supplies for students at that level will be individual, with students responsible for maintaining and bringing supplies they need to school each day. You can find supplies lists for all levels here.
