Summer Literacy Program

Forest Grove Community School is offering a FREE literacy enrichment series again this summer! The literacy enrichment program will provide opportunities for current FGSC students in grades 1-4 to integrate reading, writing, speaking, and listening around engaging themes.
This program is offered in partnership with professors and graduate students in Pacific University's School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work on literacy through a lens of language. The program will be structured with same-aged peers working together within a project-based approach that allows students to engage in literacy activities that build on their strengths and interests, creating and sharing content that is interesting to them.
The series will take place 10 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 30 to July 16. Snacks and recess will be included. We ask that families commit to attending at least four of the six sessions and that they register by May 31. To register or ask questions, please email Vanessa Gray at vgray@fgcschool.org.
